Is Your Septic System Acting Up?

These are the most common issues we see — and fix — across the Brazos Valley.

  • Sewage backing up into tubs, showers, or toilets

  • Aerobic system alarms, pump, or control panel problems

  • Strong sewage odors inside or around the system

  • Standing water or wet spots near tanks, spray heads, or lines

If you’re not sure what’s wrong, call or text with what you’re seeing, smelling, or hearing and we’ll help you sort out next steps.

When to Call Right Away

Treat it as urgent and call right away if:

  • Sewage is backing up inside the house

  • An alarm light or buzzer won’t reset

  • You see wastewater on the ground or in a ditch

  • A tank, lid, or access point is exposed or unsafe

What to Do While You Wait

  • Use as little water as you can—pause laundry, long showers, and dishwashing

  • Don’t keep flushing to “push it through” if fixtures are backing up

  • Keep kids and pets away from any wet or sunken areas

  • If there's a clean-out pipe near your home (usually a 3–4 inch capped pipe near the foundation), open it to relieve pressure.

What to Expect from a Repair Visit

On a typical repair visit, we will:

  1. Locate and access the system

  2. Diagnose the issue and explain it in plain language

  3. Review your options and what the repair will cost before we move forward

  4. Make repairs on site when possible, or schedule a follow-up if parts or excavation are needed

Pumping and Plumbing

We focus on septic system installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance. We don’t run our own pump truck or do interior drain cleaning, but we can coordinate with a pumping company or plumber if your situation needs both.
